In my opinion this place is good for mild to medium taste lover

My only traditional Japanese meal while on holiday. Shoes off, Sitting on mat, etc. Great meal, good price, friendly staff, nice view fron windows.

Simply amazing. Great houtou you need to try. We have been here because our favourite restaurant was closed but it was as great as the other. Very friendly staff. Thank you very much for a wonderful meal!

Very large pot of hot noodles with good amount of vegetables. Delicious.

Super friendly staff. Try the local speciality houtu - delicious thick noodles with plenty of vegetables. Sit on the floor for a different experience. Lots of locals dine there too. You can even buy the noodles and miso to recreate at home.

We went there for dinner and ordered the tampura, fried squid and noodle soup. Food was fantastic and service was very good. Limited English from the staff but enough to get by. We’ll be heading back for lunch.

Stopped by this shop for lunch on the way to Hokane. Tried the spicy beef houtou. It was delicious. The houtou noodles felt a bit like 版面. Food portions was very big. Ladies may want to consider sharing 2 to a pot.

Great Food. Don't forget to mention serving size. Otherwise they have a huge serving which Even 2 people sometimes can't finish it. Overall its great to eat here with friends or in groups. Waiting time isn't that much. Just around 5-10 mins. Not so expensive. They have a parking.

Excellent quality, probably the best I had in East Japan. Expect a long wait, the place is very popular with the locals.

Great place serving the local noodle dish called hoto. The entire restaurant is floor seating. English menus available. I ordered a set that included horse meet sashimi and a couple of additional side dishes.

Staff was very helpful and attentive, the restaurant was very clean and well maintained, and the food was absolutely delicious!!! I wouldn't hesitate to stop by again and have more meals in the future!

Liked it a lot! Noodles w mushrooms were an awesome local entree. Roasted frog was great too (somewhat like a large chicken wing). The horse meat was not my favorite (coming from the NE in the US), but glad we tried it. Picture menu and English menu available 👌.

The best Housou dish/pot is made at home, but this place comes in close second. They have variations with bear or turtle meat in the higher price ranges (3,100 / 4,100 JPY respectively), if you are feeling extravagant.The restaurant has a bustling and casual atmosphere; easy to relax into. Staff are very friendly too.

Have lived in Japan for nearly a year and this is one of the best restaurants we've experienced! Great authentic Japanese dining experience, sweet, helpful staff, great view of Fuji (floor dining section) and amazing food!!! The hot pot was delicious, mixed tempura had a good variety with huge shrimp, and deep fried chicken was 🤤. Food portions are larger than pictured. Will definitely be back!!

Affordable and delicious food. Dined with family on a cold and misty evening. Menu has English translation and friendly waitresses can speak very basic English.

The Prawn tempura set with rice was mind blowing. The prawn meat with the sweet soy rice were so good that we ate beyond our appetite. Do try! There were other options of meat: bear, boar, frog, turtle and horse.

Great food, great price, good vibes - we had the signaturr set with horse sashimi, abalone sashimi, pickled veggie, pickled seaweed, and hotpot vegetable noodles. The hotpot noodles were hot for a long time.

The place is nice, one big room where everyone is sitting on a tatami, with wooden pillars and walls. The hoto, noodle soup with pumpkin, is tasty and you get quite an amount of it for a reasonable price. The problem for me came from the toppings. I chose boar, and I regret it. The meat was really hard, almost chewy and didn't bring much flavor. So I would say that the restaurant is overall okay, but be careful what toppings you choose, and stay away from the boar.

Had the pork specialty hou to noodle. It was tasty and quite good for what it was... savory wise noodle. The noodle was wide, veggies were plenty and the pumpkin gourd was tasty. I saw the shrimp tempura and kinda wished I got it too. Seems like there are still a few good places around the lake for food but the area itself feels like a lot of businesses are being boarded up and new businesses are not taking over. I think this place will stick around.

Great place, real Japanese style. While we were ordering, the waitress was saying it would be too much. But you know how the plates normally look bigger on the picture than they really are? Well, there they were bigger than on the pictures. We should have listened to the waitress 😂 If you have a normal appetite, and you want to order some side dishes, you can easily share one soup

A perfect place for hot noodle soup in this cold weather.

Best Hotpot had in my life. Want to visit again and again. It's been 5th time to this restaurant. Still wanted to go more times.
